North West Hockey Development

North West Hockey Development association Inc. is a non-profit corporation that operates the concession at the North Battleford Civic Centre. The President of the organization is Dan Nahirney and it is run entirely by volunteers, with a mandate to raise funds from the operation of the concession for the development of hockey in the local area. NWHDA pays rental to the City of North Battleford for the facility at the Civic Centre based on a percentage of the total sales.

NWHDA also provides many local minor hockey and other organizations with an opportunity to work shifts at the concession. As remuneration, these organizations are paid for their assistance. NWHDA does make other minor donations to charities in the Battlefords.

The volunteer are largely made up of parents whose children have been through the local hockey system and others who have an interest in seeing hockey remain a viable and vital part of the recreational culture of the Battlefords.

North West Hockey provides a $2500 annual scholarship to a graduating Junior North Star to be used toward that player's continuing education at a Canadian College or University.

In 2002, NWHDA contributed a total of $9,933 to organizations and teams that worked the concession counters.

North West Hockey Development strives to provide a high quality of product and service to the public at the concession. Your support of the concession, and ultimately, hockey in the Battlefords, is greatly appreciated.
